Still got Love for the Streets n.3
Still Got Love for the Streets n.3 It forms part of a sequence of nine works that make up the series of the same name, one of the most representative cycles of Kende’s exploration of the relationship between urban culture and contemporary painting.
Painted on canvas, the work documents a fundamental phase of transformation in the artist’s career: the transition from direct experience on the walls of European cities to an increasingly structured and conscious practice developed within the studio. Although the medium and context have changed, the artistic language retains its original energy, preserving the gestural force, calligraphic rhythm and visual complexity that characterise the roots of his work.
The series is conceived as a progressive evolution, in which each work represents a stage in a broader journey. The formats gradually increase in size throughout the cycle, amplifying the physical presence of the compositions and transforming the urban gesture into an increasingly monumental pictorial construction.
Through layers of symbols, inscriptions and material interventions, Still Got Love for the Streets n.3 reaffirms the artist’s connection to the world from which they come, not as an exercise in nostalgia but as a recognition of a visual identity that continues to influence their work.
This artwork is currently in a private collection.
