"Graffiti is not supposed to be there, that's why it works."

Kende — Urban Calligraphy Artist

Signs born of graffiti, elevated to the status of calligraphy.

Each painting is an urban fragment transformed into an elegant and unique piece of décor. My work stems from the convergence of two seemingly distant worlds: calligraphy and writing.

After travelling around Europe’s major cities – London, Manchester, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Zurich, etc. – I brought the gestures and dynamics of graffiti into my studio, transforming them into a mature pictorial language.

The marks that once covered the walls now adorn panels designed to interact with the interior architecture. Time slipping away, captured on canvas. A subtle melancholy runs through my works: that of the mark that fades, of the moment that will never return.

Tailor-made works: a project sewn onto space.

I have specialized in creating commissioned works through a process that always starts from the place. For the most important works, I personally go to the space that will host the work, studying every detail. I note the predominant colors – sofas, floors, and wall tones – analyze the available dimensions, and observe how natural and artificial light passes through the environment.

This approach allows me to create a work that is not limited to simply hanging, but that intertwines perfectly with existing architecture: its colors dialogue with the furnishings, its proportions enhance the space, its presence modulates according to the light points. The result is a panel that seems to have always belonged to that room, a unique and unrepeatable element born from the encounter between my visual language and the identity of your environment.

Urban energy and compositional refinement.

Each work is a balance between strength and delicacy: fluid strokes that chase each other, spellings that become visual rhythm, chromatic juxtapositions designed to harmonize with space. Wide, thin panels that blend with the surfaces, bringing movement and a quiet melancholy – the awareness of time that passes and transforms everything, even what surrounds us every day.

My process is slow and layered, reflecting the natural discoloration of urban surfaces. I work through overlaps, erasures, veils: as the city continually rewrites itself, so I construct my works through gestures that accumulate and dissolve, leaving traces, suggestions, visual memories.

The presence of graffiti can be seen like one of the spaces of subversion inherent to the good functioning of a democratic system (relief valve vs status quo), which means that in a way, it is useful to it.

A silent dialogue between art and life

My works combine the expressive power of the street and the delicacy of the calligraphic gesture. They are fragments of writing that become furniture, designed for those who want a unique, personal and timeless space. For those who know how to recognize the beauty of what vanishes, for those who seek something that goes beyond decoration: a silent dialogue between art and life, between the urban past and the elegant present, between what remains and what disappears.

I paint the passage of time as I see it on the city’s walls: peeling surfaces, fading graffiti, colours losing their intensity.

Each panel holds the memory of the discoloration, the slow and inevitable decay of things. I'm not trying to stop time, but to hold back its echo: a calligraphic gesture can encapsulate the sadness of what has been and will no longer be, the fragile beauty of an instant that fades as you experience it.

My works speak of absences, of forgotten traces, of letters that are barely visible, of that urban nostalgia that settles on surfaces like dust, ready to be swept away at any moment.
