Bitch n.3, 2025 — the third work in the series of the same name, comprising four panels, a cycle through which Kende explores his research into urban calligraphy as a contemporary pictorial language.
In this work, marks, erasures, drips and layers intertwine to form a dense and dynamic surface, capable of preserving the spontaneous energy of the gesture without compromising a rigorous compositional structure. The tension between impulse and control, a central element of the artist’s practice, finds a particularly mature balance here, giving rise to a composition that is complex yet immediately accessible.

The surface reveals the various stages of the creative process: overlapping writings, gestural interventions, transparencies and glazes accumulate like traces of a visual memory in constant flux. This layering evokes the aesthetic of weathered urban walls, where every intervention leaves a mark and contributes to the construction of a collective narrative.
Although it is part of a coherent and recognisable series, Bitch n.3 It possesses a strong visual autonomy. The work stands as a distinct chapter in Kende’s artistic exploration, successfully synthesising the influences of European graffiti art with the formal maturity achieved through years of experimentation in both urban spaces and the studio.
The result is a composition in which the writing gradually loses its linguistic function, transforming into rhythm, structure and pictorial matter.
