For Emy n.3 It is a fine art print based on the original work created by Kende in 2012.
The work revisits the figure of the child already present in Frame in Mind, transforming it into a central element of a composition built up through layers of calligraphy, gestural marks and visually dense surfaces. The presence of the young observer introduces an intimate and contemplative dimension that engages with the energy of urban writing, creating a balance between contemplation and movement.
As part of the series For Emy, the work explores themes related to memory, growing up and the perception of time. The child becomes a symbol of a gaze still capable of wonder, whilst the overlapping of symbols and words evokes the experiences, influences and traces that help to shape one’s individual identity.
By blending urban calligraphy with contemporary painting, Kende transforms the language of European graffiti into a multi-layered visual narrative, where gesture, memory and imagination coexist on a single surface.
